You can also buy the dash plaque and get your VIN etched on it. The best part about the CS6 kit is the grille imo. Especially if you don't put the shelby part on there, just the black grille w/ the piaa fogs.

Thanks for the info.I'm guessing Shelby hasn't made very many CS6 Mustangs on their own?
Actually, I spoke to a dealer recently and he said the Shelby plant has a huge backlog of cars to be converted. He said one of his customers has had his GT500 in Las Vegas for several months waiting to be scheduled in. Go figure.

Shelby buys stock Mustangs off the production line, has them shipped to their Las Vegas plant, strips them of the parts that will be replaced (which, except for the Supercharger, is only suspension, brakes and look good parts) puts on the Shelby markings and signed dash plaque and sells it as a Shelby CS6, CS8, Super Snake (SS) or King of the Road (KR). Or, you can buy the Kit (with or without Supercharger) and build it yourself. Or you can buy the parts individually (without the dash plaque) and build it yourself. Or you can ship your stock Mustang to Shelby Las Vegas and they will build your CSx, SS or KR for you.
Edit: BTW, the Shelby SS and KR must be a registered owner GT500, otherwise Shelby will not do the conversion.
Can you link me to where you found that? I haven't been able to find that anywhere. Then again I haven't look real hard. Thanks

A couple of corrections to my post above:
1. The KR is a Ford production vehicle that was designed in collaboration with Shelby Auto and the SS is built by Shelby and must be a registered owner car.
2. I was specifically referring to the CS6 for building your own complete Shelby. The CS8 has some parts available thru Hillbank, Scott Drake, etc.; I don't believe an entire kit is available although the CS8 front and rear fascia is the same one used on the Mustang GT/California Special.
Sorry for the confusion.

Most CS-6 parts are installed as single pieces or piecemeal. I.e., there are lots of mustangs with just the CS-6 hood or just the front fascia or the fascia and grill, etc. For example, there are several Shelby GT's who had the hood and/or front fascia installed. There are very few complete kits installed (probably less than 30). Of the kits there are 2 versions, a turn-1 and a turn-2. The turn-1 kit has the suspension, body parts, wheels and other stuff etc. The turn-2 kit adds the supercharger and 8.8 rear. Installing a complete kit earns the dash plaque (CS-6 Turn-1 or 2 kit authorized by Shelby Automobiles). Adding a CS-6 part or parts turns your car into no more of a Shelby or a Poser than adding a few parts from Roush turns your car into a Roush or a Poser. Adding the full kit and plaque turns your car into a Shelby. Unless it was built at one of the mod shops, it doesn't get the engine plate or official registry (yet) since it wasn't built by Shelby but it is a real Shelby as confirmed multiple times by the president of Shelby Automobiles - Amy Boylan.
The kit can be added to a V-8, turning it into a CS-8
Shelby at Las Vegas does not install CS-6/8 kits. It can be done at one of the authorized Shops (Tasca, Quantum, Sean Hyland in Canada). However, it is likely that there will be very few ever done since most people are now going to the Shelby Terlingua conversion which offers virtually identical performance at a cheaper price.
Very few people install the Paxton supercharger without one of the Shelby conversions since the Paxton is almost identical to the more popular Vortech supercharger (they share identical Vortech parts except for the head unit which is very similar).
...but since the CS6 is made specifically for the V6...it is like an easy way to have a V6 Shelby without being a poser.
Now if only other people will see it the same way. :P
I was unaware that the CS6 kit was made specifically for the v6 mustang. In that case I don't see a problem with that. That conversion is really good looking in any case! good luck!

No you can have a GT converted to a CS-8. The differences between the two kits is the supercharger is a different model (GT specific), it doesn't come with a GT rear fascia, wing or 8.8 rear since the GT already has them.
