Default Wheel/Odometer Question

I was looking at some 17" Mustang wheels because I cannot find any 16" Bullit rims. My questions is, if I upgrade will it affect my odometer? I mean with the larger radius, theoretically it should affect the distance my car is measuring per wheel rotation right? Thanks!

yea it will, but ull be really close

a tuner can fix that

but 1 inch shouldent make that much of a difference, i think the biger u go the slower ur speedo will read and the less miles ull put one becaus the engine and rear end turn less to get u further.

but 1 inch is really insigificant i belive

( i seen the plans its gonna look sharp )

i have a set of gt take offs that are 17s and my speedo is fine. the 17s have a lower profile tire so it keeps the geometry pretty much the same as stock.

The wheel size has no bearing on the speedometer. It's the tire height that matters.

Slt is correct, there is also a tire calculator online that you can put your stock tire size in and what you want to put on and it will tell you how it will affect your speedometer.

I think it is www.tirecalculator.com

if a person were hypothetically to use a tuner to alter the height of the tire without actually changing the tire, could that person significantly reduce the miles gained on the odometer?

I changed my instrument cluster to the 6 gauge with Information Center and My Color. I noticed that the speedometer doesnt match the GPS by about 2- 3 Miles per hour. My car has 16" tires and wheels. I wonder if the car that the cluster came out of had 17" tires and wheels.
