Default Just installed Jlt cai and tune now dct codes

The install was easy and the tune was OK at best ..just learning the SCT/SF3 that came as a package deal.

Anyway I only adjusted the fuel octane to 91 and then loaded it after it backed up the stock etc....

I noticed the throttle response is much quicker and overall I am happy however

I got home and the CEL came on with po174 and 171 lean and lean ...I cleared it but wondering what to look for ..I see no leaks past the MAF and the tune is one of the three that come with the (enhanced) sct

adjust ur AF ratio, set it up a hair more for gas. u might feel more power too since shes not gasping for juice.

i get mine in a few days i cant wait!

i need to get my catalyst defecieny fixed. but i gotta get under car for that *sigh* fn snow!

did you recheck everything on the cai, like the hose fittings at both ends, and the maf port direction, and all the clamps? the custom tune should be all set with nothing that should need to be changed. ive never seen a code go off on mine.ive run tillmans and bamas. who did the tune? i would get that re-done if the cai is cool. you shouldnt have to be changing any settings, and might risk some damage for doing so.

he said SCT SF3, isn't that just strategy tunes no custom tunes? i've heard about people running lean with the canned tunes before, i would just adjust the fuel and see how it works.

Yes its the canned tunes and all i changed was octane to 91 did not adjust anything else. I have ordered 3 tunes from Bamachips as they seem very highly regarded.

I just cleared the codes and the CEL has not come back on and im a little weary of adjusting fuel ..im new to this I think it would be in the user customized options for all the things like rev limiter/ fi size etc...?

i would spend the 50.00 and get a custom tune, which would be way better just get a race tune,,,,or i think you can get 3 tunes for 100.00, then you could get the 87 performance, and some premium octane tunes.

If the DTC comes back, check all of your connections, especially downstream of the MAF sensor.

Well I started this post very late at night after at 60+ hour work week. (and in the wrong forum) tsk tsk too much work

I have the v8 GT but the responses here have been extremely helpfull and appreciated.

As I stated in my first post i am very new to tuning and what I missed was the option for *INTAKE* on the preloaded tunes... it was at stock airbox;

I reflashed it after changing air intake to JLT CAI and all is working well car runs like a demon!!

Thanks all for suggestions and help
