Default Is a tune reflash required when changing gears

Switching from the stock rear end to a 8.8 axle with 4.10's and t-lock. Is an ecu flash required?

How does that work? I'm getting an xcal2 tuner with my c&l intake i have on order, can I use that with just the tuner file provided?

Default heh

I've never messed with a tuner, so I have no clue how this works.

when you first plug it in youll be asked to program vehicle

select yes

install tune by "skipping " options
put tune in.

when your all done hit program again, load the same tune

then it will say change options or skip

select change

then go to gear ratio, select 4.10 then save

the second flash takes only seconds the first a few minutes.

if your tires are larger than stock, besure to change your tire diamater the same way

Actually it is not required. If you switch out the gears and don't update your tune, the only problem will be your speedo will be off. Since your getting the xcal 2, you will be able to simply enter the new gear size under options, and your set. Not a hard task at all. Let us know how you like the new gears.

Why would you flash the tune twice? Make the change the first time and flash the car.

I don't think you have to, I know on the xcal 3 you can change options before any upload.
