Default 2008 Mustang V6.CAI suggestion to compliment exhaust needed

Last month I purchased a Borla true dual kit for my 2008 V6 auto. The kit is the X - pipe and dual cat backs. The kit is not stocked by any vendors so I am waiting not so patiently. Either way Borla said it should arrive this month. I need suggestions if anyone is currently using this system, what intake are they using to compliment this system. What intakes does anyone reccomend for this system. I am leaning towards C and L or Steeda and a tune. Has anyone gone with the Ford Racing and the the Pro Cal? Any suggestions please help. I want a good compliment for this sytem. Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong but your exhaust system and intake have little to do with each other. The two top pics here are C&L and JLT. I have the JLT and am happy with it.

Any of them will work just fine.

I have the C&L and love it. Just don't forget that you have to have a tune. The Ford Racing CAI is not worth the money, you will only get minimal gains and you won't have as many options as far as the tune goes. Stick with aftermarket.

actually they go hand in hand with each other. if you open up one you need to open up the other to balance it out. you'll get more hp/tq when you do both. jlt is a good cai. i have a bbk with no tune. i couldnt afford the tuner at the time. also i'm running an 08 gt not a 6er, all though they can get up and go.

That is true, but it matters only for F/I, no? For a CAI I don't think it makes THAT much of a difference.

Correct. Whatever's on the back end doesn't matter until you go F/I. For just a CAI a single exhaust is plenty big enough and turboed systems run through a single pipe just fine as long as the crappy stock v6 muffer is replaced with anything else.

Thanks for the suggestions. I do plan to go F/I in the future, but only after suspension and rear end upgrades. Right now I just want to go with a few bolt-ons. I know with the 6er's CAI's don't make a world of difference but any help is appreciated. I guess anyone will do the trick. I think I will go C and L and the diablosport tuner combo. Man I can't wait until the Borla kit comes to my doorstep. I ordered it 2 weeks after Christmas.

CAI make a lot of difference, V6 or not. CAI that don't require a tune don't.
