Default Can you put wide tires on stock rims?

Hey guys i was just wondering if i can make the tires wider. I have the stock Torque thrust 17" wheels, is the stock the widest you can go or can i put a wider tire on the stock rim? Love the rim dont want to buy a new rim but love to have a bit wider tire on it.
Thanks

you can go a little wider, dont go crazy. you`ll have some options on sizes for the 17`s. i got the 16`s, and i wanted bfg`s,,,only option i had was 235/60 ( which i put on the back) and stock 215/65 on the frt. the 235 is not much wider than stock at all.

Already thanks, does wider tires needs to be readjusted with tuner or is it only for bigger rims?

I wouldn't go much wider than a 255 on an 8" rim.

The width of the tire changes nothing for your speedo, however the height does. If the tire you go with ends up being slightly taller, you will need to re program your tune for the tire revs per mile for that tire vs the stock tire revs per mile. Most tire companies give you that info in the stats for their tires.

That is 255millimeters... Metric last time I looked... You can fit 275's on the rim no problem.
