2005 Mustang V6 want's to stall when I push on the gas pedal.
My 2005 Mustang sometimes wants to stall when I try to accelerate from a stop, or when I back up and put it in drive and want to take of really fast. This problem happens only in summer when the temperature really hot. Has anyone had this problem or know what it could be?
have you done any mods to the car? how many miles on it. you should have clean air filter, good spark plugs and wires, pull your intake and clean the throttle body.( mine was filthy) check your fluids. is it throwing any codes when it does that?sounds like your idle is dropping down too low,,, ive got over 53,000 never did or does that.

No mod's yet. It only has 12000 milles on it. No codes either, I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. The problem is intermitant. The idle is okay also.
It sort of acts like a car with a bad carburator, you press on the gas pedal and it want's to die.
I used to be able to fix just about any problems a car would have until they computerized everything.
ya, i know what you mean. that almost sounds like a timing problem in a old motor. i had a slight delay when it was stock. now i can mash it from a standstill and it just hauls butt. if it gets bad, i would have them re-flash if it has warenty. at 12,000 miles it shouldnt need anything. i`m guessing it sits for long periods with only that many miles. does it sit without being ran? stale fuel is not good either.you might want to still look at your throttle body. maybe its a good excuse to get a custom tune and cai

I remember seeing a tsb for a similar problem. Now I can't find it. It had something to do with the fuel pump. The dealer already re-flashed it once but the problem never whent away.
I'm going to look at the throtle body when I install the cai.
Maybe I'm not riding it hard enough.
Yea it's probably the TB. When I replaced mine I had the problem for a day or two, but it worked itself out. Just take it out and clean it and problem solved.

+1 on cleanin the tb the best way to clean it is to remove it and spray alot of tb cleaner on it but if you dont want to remove it take the intake tube off (now somebody will have to be in the car with there foot on the gas or the car will die)and spray cleaner in throttle body and not too much to kill the engne but just little by little
Your fuel pump can do that too, same thing happenes to my dads Benz and its the fuel pump is dirty, so the car doesnt get enough fuel and wants to stall

i think taking off the throttle body would be alot easier lol
There are four bolts holding on the throttle body, i think a 9mm socket takes them off but im not 100% sure on that, i might be way off on the size.
When you take it off you will see a bunch of black most likely and you just need to wipe that off, if you have throttle body cleaner then getting that crap off is alot easier.
I can even make a how to video tomorrow if needed.

I don't need a video. I'm quite mechanicaly inclined. But thaks for the offer.
