Are new bearing install kit require for 3.73 gears!!
I'm trying to install a tlock and 3.73 oem gears in my 7.5 rear end. The shop has a great reputation of gear install. Just wondering if the install kit is definitely required (bearings etc..). My car has 5000 km on it, 4500 mile and never drove her hard. I want to see if it is ok & safe to use my current bearing so I don't have to buy a 100 bucks kit.
Thanks

When doing a gear install you always want to play it safe, add the master bearing install kit, the peace of mind will be worth the extra $100. Its not the kind of mod you want to take the cheap route on!
Thanks I'm wondering the same thing, some people say it's good to re-use my bearings and some told me to buy the bearings.
I'm mot sure what to do, please more inputs & opinions would help me alot

im looking to add some 3.73 gears to my v6 soon, whats involved, like whats all the stuff that i need in order to instal it completely?
You need your gears + friction modifier + oil. I would install Tlock while your rear end is open as well, thats what im doing. And you need a install kit (bearings etc..)

Thnx, i will take your advice since you have the most experience out of us STL but just curious is there a specific reason behind this or is it just because used parts (in my case not brand new parts) are risky?

06 V6 stick, vista, premium (g/f`s car)
They say as long as parts are purchased from them or are brand new get warranty.
Actually i just received my gears/Tlock couple hours ago and they look pretty good in excellent shape
Im so happy
