check for leaks and make sure everything is on tight.
Did you get a tune also?
It may be running too lean.
everything seems to be on tight and with the bbk cai i dont need a tune its specially made to work with the factory tune. Should i just take the whole thing off and install it again? Thanks for the comment.
your car is running lean, no matter what, you need a tune to be really safe.
i also added a borla axel back the same day, i dont know if that has anything to do with it. The difference before and after is night and day. I already smoked a car :d
buy a diablo preditor tuner There you can clear codes in less than 60 secs. My check engine light comes on 1 a week So I just clear the code Its related to my bbk long tube headers and the o2 sensors Its no big deal, So I just clear it

how much does this tuner go for? Which website is this at?
www.americanmuscle.com free shipping under $400.00 They work super and user friendly You can install a 91 octane too also Clear codes while you are even driving and remove that engine light Its that easy
Umm.... considering you have a cai, it will be best to get a custom tune. Try tillman, brenspeed, or bamachips to get a custom tune for you mods. It will really make the most difference and you will be able to clear codes and upload different octane tunes. With a 93 octane race tune, my car feels like a whole different beast.

tuner sounds like a good idea...
if your worried take it to autozone or something and see what code its throwing up.
its probably just running lean if anything at all.
Autozone is a good idea. One other solution is cleaning your MAF sensor. Often, the sensor will become dirty during the switch, causing a problem with the airflow. Also check all your wires to make sure they are tight. When I installed mine, I forgot to hook back up all the wires. Scared me to death when the car wouldn't start.

haha thats funny i would have freaked out. What would i tell the people at auto zone? What do i clean the maf sensor with? So is this check engine light a major problem? Or can i fix it in about a month?
Definitely get a tuner, CAI alone wont give you much HP, when you combine it with a tuner then you see what a difference it makes + you can do so much more with it.
I wouldnt run the car with check engine light on, even if everything is fine, these cars are all electronic controlled, who knows maybe the sensor tells the computer that check engine is on and some crazy thing might happen. Better to be safe than sorry

Go up to autozone and say "Hey, my check engine light just came on, will you run the code and see whats the matter" They will bring out a scanner and read the code free of charge. While your there, pick up some Mass Air Flow cleaner. Its not too hard to clean. I would definitely get it checked out now. Its not good to run your car lean. If the scan does show running lean, place the stock air box back on and wait to reinstall the cai until you get a custom tune.
