Default Abnormal Throttle Lag Toubleshooting

Friday i drove down south to Vincennes, IN for a college tour and its a pretty long drive. about 3 hours and 10 min one way, and the roads sucked...I-70 west of Indy blows cuz its very rough, and Hwy 41 S of Terre Haute isnt very fun either. anyways, i noticed about halfway into the trip that if i had been driving for a while then come to a light, an exit, or to a stop, that when i begin to move again as soon as i touch the throttle it acts fine for about 2 seconds gets me rolling off the line, then acts like your TCS does when you spin, except i didnt spin at all. just felt like it cut out then came back on. it did this to me probably half a dozen times, but not at every stop, i normally would just surprise me. does anyone have any clue why this happened? anything i need to fix? hopefully itll fix itself when i change my plugs and coil + wires today.

I heard something similar on this forum not too long ago. Somebody's soultion was a trick that they had learned that your supposed to do every time you reflash your pcm.

The guy basically said turn your car to the power on position then push the pedal to the floor over the course of two seconds very smoothly. Then let the pedal up over 2 seconds very smoothly then turn the car on.

I believe he said it would eliminate the jumpy throttle.

Hope that helps

I had this same type of problem a couple of years ago. There's a tsb about the fuel pump.Took it in to my dealer and they replaced the fuel pump with the Gt500 one I believe,or an upgraded one.Been running great since. No hesitations after driving on the hwy for awhile and then exiting off to a stop light, and then going again.Hope this helps.Mine is a 05 not a 06.

It could also be your fuel filter or pump.
There is a TSB on the pump.
Okcreferee beat me to it.

well iv already planned on changing my fuel filter this week. sounds like okcreferee had the exact same problem. my first question is...do i just take it to my dealer and tell em to fix it? and my next problem is that my tuner(sct livewire) is messed up. the lcd screen isnt readable(its all blue) so i cant tune back to stock before i take it to my dealer. id like to keep my 100000mi warranty cuz i only have 24000 on the od. its not a huge problem i guess at the time, im not usually on the highway or interstates for more than 30min. it would be nice to have it fixed thoough.

I had the same problem with mine. TSB 06-9-9 Hesitation on acceleration after long cruise. It is the fuel pump. They should replace it no charge.

Default mine did the same thing

I was told by my dealer that the fuel pump on long cruises forms air bubbles around the pick -up and when you get out of the throttle then try accelerate it picks up the bubbles and causes a hesitation. when I had mine fixed they weren't even aware of the TSB, fixed no problems.

ok, so its def my fuel pump. well i guess ill just have to try n get my tuner fixed. either that or take it in and hope they dont notice the huge CAI stickin out of the throttle body and taking up the front half of my engine bay...right? dont ask dont tell poilicy maybe? but still, my tune couldnt have ruined the pump so they stil have to replace it under warranty right? im just worried, but i still dont think its a big enough problem that it need to be replaced right now.

If you car isn't under warranty, you may have to pay for the fix.
Some dealers don't care about the CAI. If you have the original, you can always put it back and flash to stock.

i do have a 100000mi warranty and my lcd screen on my tuner isnt readable so re flashing back to stock is impossible at the moment...that's just my problem is getting it back to stock so i can put my stock air box back on. i just figured with the economy that dealers and services will be cut back on for things like this because they dont wanna pay to fix things. just dont wanna take the change of voiding any part f my warranty.

The fuel pump should then be covered if that is in fact the problem..

it should be, i just cannot get a hold of anyone who knows what im talking about. i just need to talk to a service rep and get a code to write on it and send it in. ALSO, my other delima is that since i cannot tune back to stock, im afraid that sending it in i might lose my stock tune. they say alsways return to stock before you send em in, but in my case i cant. what do you think i should do? any chance that they might be able to take mine in, and trade me for an xcal3 but transfer my bama tune and stock tune? ill just accept my loss of about a hundred bucks. im just tired of the hassel, this is the 2nd time its done this to me.

SCT can always get you a stock calibration if you lose it.
