Default 2005 Mustang V6- Having Exhaust Problems

I recently just put dual flowmaster 40 series on my 2005 mustang v6 and to be honest i think it sounds like a tuner car. im not pleased with the sound and i was wondering what i can do to get a lower sound. I was considering putting Cherry Bomb Glass Pack on it but im not sure how that would sound either. Can anyone help me?

Yeah, I saw a video on YouTube with the same problem. Did you buy a custom H pipe or did it come with a Y-Y conversion kit? Also, I've heard from other people that the glass packs make a more raspy sound, but I honestly wouldn't know. I just recently bought a MAC dual exhaust kit after viewing venom800t's YouTube video and they sound amazing. It probably has the deepest sound out of all the other exhaust setups and are fairly cheap. Sorry to hear about how it sounds. Only way I would think would help is to get a custom H pipe from an exhaust shop.

you didnt say what pipe setup you had. are you looking for loud or just sounding good. you cant hardly beat the gt takeoff mufflers for 69.00 a set for sounding good. they sound great, but they arent real loud for the most part. they are loud if your nailin it, but quit just cruzin easy. if your thinking glass packs, i`m guessing you want loud

i cant comment on that. in the old days, lots of guys put cherry bombs (glass packs)on the v8`s and they were loud. hopefully some of the guys with louder stuff will chime on here and give you some ideas. otherwise it would cost alot of money to buy and try different setups. i had a neibor that took his muffler off and put a pipe on it. he liked it, i didnt think it sounded very good, but everyones different.

How recently? Some of the "tinny" sound (what most of us associate with rice" will go away as the muffler(s) go through a bunch of heat cycles and have a chance to mellow out. Most new mufflers sound a bit rice right after they are installed. If they are less than a month old, I would advise letting them "settle in" for a few months and see if the sound quality changes a bit to your liking. I had a flowmaster single muffler on my 4.0 and it sounded like a totaly different muffler after about 2 months of driving than on day of install.

Not bashing on the v6, i own one and have alot done to mine but its always going to sound ricey up top, no way around it, the most you can hope for is a deep rumble when you start and up to about 3k-3.5k and then its going to get high pitched, i always liked the sound of just no muffler but keep the cats, infact i bet keeping the cats and and getting an h pipe with no mufflers would sound really good.

Thats my .02

agred +1 just lack of pressure for these larger sized GT mufflers.

mine goes up to about 4 grand before it gets rhaspy.

around town take it easy driveing, she sounds bad to the bone,
but racing... snap crackle and pop, i call it the rice crispy treat

but as long as im infront who cares!
