It might have 273 ft/lbs of torque, but not till 5200 rpm. Our torque is at 3500 rpm. Torque is always king. It's 200-300 lbs heavier than us, hell with a few mods I have on mine, the CAI, the 93 Tune and 4:10 gears,... I'm not nervous.

But I wouldn't want to see GM go under, to many people depend on a GM paycheck. For them I hope they do stay afloat and hope they sell many Camaro's. It's good for America, it's good for my ego when I beat one..a win win situation.

No matter where they make their power at they are still faster than a Mustang V6... lol They could make it at 9grand and all they would have to do was keep their foot in it longer. Why try to kid yourselves? It is going to be just like it was when the Camaro was out from 93-02, it outpowered the Mustangs at every level but it was also more expensive as well.

It is going to be a faster car than the V6 Mustang but also quite a bit more expensive as well. Even with the MSRP dealerships are still going to be charging more for them, not to mention I want to find the dealership where you can find a base-option car with no options on it at all. I have yet to find a Mustang with manual anything(besides tranny) anywhere near me on a dealer lot...

The Chevy kiddies aren't allowed to be faster than we are They have to buy their expensive Camaros, suffer the ugly interiors, and find out their still slow. That is the order of things. Lol. The high-rev Camaros might come out on top in a drag race but on the street the Mustang will pull away faster from light to light. Meaning our cars will be putting out a smug growl while they're whining like Banshees to keep up That's what's important.

I get what ur saying...but where? Chevy won't pick it up...it's the same damn thing as the Camaro...and having 2 of the same car under one make...? I dunno

Caddy wont get it either, its not luxurious enough....

And GMC wont get it...they only make trucks....

And as for the rest of GM...well...they're gone....

So unless Dodge or Ford work some weird butt-f*ck deal out with GM....the Trans Am will never live again....

Yes. Super modded Camaro Vsixers will outrun a stock GT any day.

Don't forget the Camaro has an on again off again history. In a few years when the next generation comes out they'll probably screw it up somehow, sales will fall and the Camaro will be gone again. Then just to be fresh they'll haul out the Trans Am again.
And strictly speaking GM doesn't have to resurrect Pontiac to call something Pontiac, they can give Obama a pet hamster named Pontiac if they want to. I predict when enough time has passed the "Pontiac" Trans Am will appear as a special eddition at various GM dealers much as Shelbys appear at Ford. And it'll be super collectible because Pontiacs aren't made anymore, they'll cost more than a GT500, and the whole thing will be like "New Coke" all over again. So I have said.

I agree 100%, I couldn't afford the insurance on a GT so I went with the v6, and I'm more than happy with the hp it's putting out, I hate the fact that everybody wants to race at lights against my v6, I don't turn it down but it's a not a drag car, I kill just about every car in 3rd gear and up. I like the Camaro and especially the Challenger, but the mustang, v6 or not, has too much personality and sounds too sexy for me to ever think twice about getting mine, I always wanted a stang and even though I went with a v6 I'm a mustang owner for life now and would never defect

Why is it unsettling that its faster? It just is. I dont understand people saying that the V6 and GT can hang with these cars. All things equal the V6 loses and so does the GT. In the real world things are never equal though. Better driver and mods can change the outcomes in a hurry. Be happy your driving IMO the best Mustangs ever. if you cant handle being slower mod your car. Im just sick of hearing denial of the truth. This isnt new. A Mustang GT has not been faster than a Z28 or SS since the days of the 5.0. This is nothing new.

Call it romantic nonsense if you like but Mustangs have a greatness. They're something to be looked on with awe by all the Civic driving commoners of the world for they could never hope to catch one. They're like unicorns.

Now I couldn't say what mythic animal Camaros are supposed to be but their existance makes our cars a little less special.

That's my interpretation anyway, there's probably a few theories about the Ford vs Chevy rivalry.
