Well that could explain why I could never find a 4.5 stroker... I wish it were true, though, that would mean mine would be around that number. We will see this summer though how much you can get with a stroker.
Do you know of any guys over at the collective that have done a stoker kit Pony?
Not that I know of... Some of the guys are bolt-on guys, most are supercharged, theres a few turbo guys and the ones who are making more power than that have just went ahead with a 5.4l swap.
I think the general consensus is that if you want big numbers, go forced induction. If you want bigger numbers, you're better off swapping in another motor because your tranny, drive shaft and rear end aren't going to like it anyway.
I really don't see why stroking is necessary. I recall the Supersix Motorsports dyno sheets saying that they made 440rwhp with a Procharger and their stage 3 head/cam setup. Seems like that should be plenty for the average bear.

440 is great, but it was running 14 ibs of would be rough on stock internals. Imagine that set up plus a 4.3 stroker...

Imagine your car shuddering so badly during idle that it almost rattles the teeth out of your head every time you're sitting at a stop light.
You can only push so much out of a motor before it becomes too unruly to be a daily driver.
Also, you can't always supercharge or turbo a motor that has had major work done on it with good results. If you get a nasty idle while you're still n/a then dumping more air and fuel into the motor is only going to make it worse.

You really think idle would be that bad? I think it would be awesome to have that much power regardless, but I am still in the information gathering stage

^It would depend on the amount of head-work done and the type of cam used for the engine as to how bad the car would idle. He is right though, most hi-performance engines are not street engines in any sense of the word.

I remember stlwagon using almost that exact quote (...idle so bad it almost rattles the teeth out of your head at stop lights...) describing his car, pre-Vortech. His 4.6 has been stroked to a 5.0.
I'm not sure how it is now but yeah, you're going to sacrifice most if not all of the streetability and smoothness of engine if you mod it out that much. Heads and cams plus supercharger are one thing, or a stroker kit by itself, but I think both of them together would be a bit much.
But its your car, not mine.

Yeah that guy is full of sh!t. You should have seen his 0-60 claims. he thought the 0-60 was 0-60 mph lol. It's 60 feet.
haha yea next time when he makes something up he should look into a little bit.
