I was just curious how much horsepower some of you are putting out with your V6? What mods do you have to achieve this?
I just bought a 2005 V6 so I want to know "what's my potential"? The car already has Magnaflow dual exhaust and has been lowered about 1.5". What is next for me?
Well Xchris is getting 350 rwhp out of his with a turbo and there is another fellow on here who is getting 347 N/A with several major engine mods. Your next step should be a cai and tune. This is generally one of the first mods people do and it will net you the biggest gain for the buck. You could also throw gears and tlok for a noticable gain. A supercharger or turbo will give you the most power, but it is expensive.

F/I is forced injection. That would be your Superchargers and turbochargers.
Tlok is also know as limited slip differential..at least I think that is what it is called. Basically in V6 the differential is made such that when you put down on the gas, on rear tire starts spinning first. Your rear right tire because right side of the car is lighter. This is why V6 cannot do a burnout with two tires, only one will spin. A TLok is what is on the GTs. With Tlok you will be able to put the power down to both tires. Also will get rid of the fish tail.

And I do not think anyone with a 4.0 is putting out 347 naturally aspirated.

The point of this post was to find out what my reasonable Horsepower potential is without breaking the bank. I do not plan on a turbo or supercharger just because of the cost... I plan on a high end GT in five years but I want to give this one some power between now and then.
I just wish I could find that dang 4.5 stroker kit he has. I guess Im gonna be stuck with a 4.3 kit.
lol looks like its a v6 but not a 4.0

The guys over at 40collective.com have been talking about that member, who claims 342 rwhp out of a 4.5l stroker.
Apparently several people have talked with him and found his claims to be false. So.. I wouldn't set my heart on any 4.5l stroker kits just yet.
Jlephoto: A cold air intake and performance tune will get you around 15rwhp and an aftermarket muffler (or gt takeoff muffler) will get you 10rwhp. From there you can look at underdrive pulleys (~5rwhp) a bigger throttle body (~5rwhp) a screamin demon coil pack and livewires (another ~5rwhp) an aluminum driveshaft to shed rotational mass, or some gears and a limited slip differential to help you get traction while taking off and help you spool through the gears faster.

Well that could explain why I could never find a 4.5 stroker... I wish it were true, though, that would mean mine would be around that number. We will see this summer though how much you can get with a stroker.
Do you know of any guys over at the collective that have done a stoker kit Pony?
