Default 2005 Mustang V6-auto trans deep pan and dipstick

i`m thinking instead of paying the 160-200.00 for the oil change, for another couple hundred this might be the way to go. the oil can be easily checked with a dipstick that comes with the pan. heres a link to the gt tech forum. it still wouldnt flush the entire system(converter) like they can at the dealer though, but with a drain plug, and a couple oil changes should be good. no need for dealer service, i like that idea the most. whats your thoughts? i`m kinda liking the idea.

seeing how you change the auto tran oil every 150000 miles, I don't think it is needed.

i`m gonna dig a little deeper. there is no way i would let my trans go 150,000 with out service. you should change ( flush)the fluid every 30,000 or so. i`m at 55,000 and i`m gonna do mine one way or the other. and they recomend dropping the pan and checking the filter along with fluid at 100,000. the deep pan would keep fluid cooler, besides being able to service it and check the level easy.

I change mine at 30k miles. I drop the pan and change the filter. I also thought about this pan, it would be alot easier, but the price kept me from it

i know, looks like 399 is the best price. when you drop the pan, you only get about 5 qts out. when they flush it they get the 12 qts, which is nice, but the price has been changing with the fuel prices. it was down to 100.00 but i bulked, and now its 160.00. you probably didnt need to replace that filter. i got mine used and i know its never been done.
