Question Muffler Viod waranty?

Ok so i got this new muffler and it's a magnaflow 15889. Sounds great and looks great too. Now some people have asked me if my car's waranty is void since i did this. I don't have a clue but all i know is it better not be since my car has a 35K waranty on it and i'm only at 5.5k so far (don't drive far much). So i guess all i'm asking is did i ruin my warranty on my 2008 v6?

No you did not void your warranty. Ford can only choose not to honor your warranty if they can prove that whatever problem your having relates to what YOU added to your car. But a muffler by itself cannot do any damage so your OK. Only engine modification (intake, tune, etc) get on the line of voiding warranty. In other words your protected under the "Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act."

No, it will not void the warranty. No different than changing tires.

Talking Thx

Thank you guys. I also just found a link on the magnaflow website explaining why it does not void the warranty. I guess i just need to be carefull when putting on a cold air intake. Maybe if something happens then i can just put on the old air filter and act dumb. lol any way thanks again.

You can change out your CAI. Though it would be a good idea to change it back to stock if you take it in for warranty work.

hello JaK1216, no it wont ruin your warranty and congrats on the new muffler. I have the magnaflow 15889 just installed too and I love it, they are cheaper on ebay but I wanted a warranty (the salt on the roads here in winter kills an exhaust) so I got it here magnaflow 15889 , or you can try one of the vendors here, they are always running sales/specials. either way its a great system and very easy to install.
