ok well as i said in another post. today i tried to install my roush cai and sct sf3. i noticed that the sct didnt have a roush option so i choose a c&L since it kinda looks like it. after i got done installing the tune and CAI i instalntly duble checked everything. it was good so i started my car and it was having problems starting, is this normal? also the tool thingy showed up on my screen with my speed. it sputters and dies when i give it gas and it spits out black smoke when it idles. what should i do? i tried a steeda, jlt, and C&L tune and all three of them did the exact same thing!!!! so what do i do? i took the CAI off and have the setting on my SCT on stock airbox. also whats the difference between fuel economy and non fuel economy setting on the SCT?? thanks sorry for all the questions

Extremely different. Make sure you put the tuner on "V6". Also, since you don't know anything about cars, make sure everything is connected and airtight. Make sure you didn't leave anything unplugged, and make sure you didn't get anything on the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor) because that can screw things up. (Looks similar to this)
I really think you should stop right now though before you screw anything up big time.
That means you are tuning it to be like a GT. You bought the CAI for a V6, right?
And honestly... If you didn't even know that your car was a V6 Mustang...
You shouldn't be touching anything in your car. Especially with your car's computer.
ya i guess you got a point but at the same time i followed the instructions totally to the last screw. there is no way i could of messed it up. and ive only had the car for six days now. i just believed the dealership my dad was with me too and he said its a shelby too so it wasnt just me.

Don't be too hard on yourself. You just got the wrong information.

thanks pcfrisch for the support well i looked at my CAI and it doesnt have the roush logo in white so i think its the v6 version. cant really tell cause they both look totally the same. but i think its a v6 intake so i think its fitting anyways. i was toldf by the people at roush that the only difference between a GT intake and a V6 intake is the coupler at the end. other then that its the same. idk what to think

Sorry about my harshness. It's just that before I do anything to my expensive car, I make sure I know exactly what I'm doing. If I don't, I ask. At least you're asking now !
If that's the case, then something isn't connected up right, or you did something wrong with the tune. Another thing to consider is the Livewires/Demon Coils. I don't think they should affect anything, but you never know.
Are you absolutely SURE that there is no Roush CAI setting? And for that matter... Are you SURE you entered all needed info into the tuner correctly?
Post up what you are putting into the tuner and we can all help you out a lot more!

Actually it could very well be a shelby. Carrol Shelby did make a few special v6 mustangs.
And for the record, nooo... That's inaccurate. Yes, a few V6's were made, but they had a lot more done to them than an appearance package... i.e. supercharger...
on the cai, the gt( oval connector) and the 4.0( round connector), the gt wouldnt bolt onto your motor. if it connects fine, you have the right one. the tuner itself is the same tuner. the first time you used the tuner, it stored your factory settings so your ok there putting it back to stock( with the stock air box). i would call bamachips or tillman, give them your brand of cai and code # and have them make you 3 custom tunes.( around 100.00) your close to having it together.
