I have heard that the GT's are close to the V6 in fuel economy in the 05+. I would go for the GT you will regret getting a V6, maybee not right away but as soon as one flies by you...you will wish you had gotten that GT. Thats my 2 cents.

well which one is the GT?

I say go for the GT which ever one it is. It gets pretty solid MPG if you dont drive like you just stole in constantly. My dad has a 2007 GT/CS (same as GT with some body pieces and 3.55 gears) and I like it a lot. They are very fun cars and I know youll be happy with a GT with out a doubt

V6 and V8 MPG are practically the same...the GT will always be easier to upgrade or resell should that day ever arise...

do your homework. i get a kick every time someone posts this same question. go by a dealership, check out the milage on the window stickers, its pretty accurate. a low milage car has warenty. a 40,000 mile car is due for alot of scheduled maintenence.11,000 is still like new. ( check the price for extended warenty) the v6`s can run pretty darn good also. call your insurance company and get some quotes. and the bottom line, get what you want.

If you can afford the GT get it ,,, I only wanted the V6 payment , in my area there is about 6000.00 to 10,000.00 dollar differance between a V6 and Gt ,, Interest rates are still good if your a good buyer , I got 6.25 % In the End it is your car and payment ,, the V6 can be just as much fun as any other car

Like has been said, not a whole lot of difference in the gas mileage. Careful driving on the interstate at 72 mph, I could get 27 mpg with my GT. Part of your homework had better be in checking what your insurance is going to be. I'd start with the convet for now, they run good, GT can get you into trouble was too fast at times.
Happy Hunting - Dave

I purchased my 08 v6 with 9k over an 05 gt with 38k that was about the same price. You have to take everything into account like warrenty, condition, history and options. My v6 was loaded and still like new and the power was still impressive. The gt was fast but was almost base model with no warrenty. Being an 06 gt with 40k I think the drivetrian is still under warrenty so there nothing to worry about there. In the end drive them both and go with your gut

also know that insurance will be a bit more a month for the GT than the V6. If you have the cash, i would recommend the GT, fun ride and virtually same mileage as the v6 (i am convinced my old GT had better mileage stock....). Just dont fall asleep on a windy road like i did
