Default SCT Programmer v6

I have a friend who wants to sell me his SCT prog. He has a GT and I have a V6. I heard the programmers VIN lock themselves to a car. What are the steps I need to take to get this working on mine. Will the same programmer that works on a V8 work on a V6? Thanks.

oncwe u put the stock tune back in to the car u can use it on a different car
once u plug it in to a different car it uses an unlock credit

i think SCT has 5 unlock credits.

so if he returns his car to stock.... yep itl work for u

You will have to get new tunes though, a gt tune will not work on a v6. You have to ensure your buddy returns his to the stock setting and unlocks the tuner from your car.

His tunes won't work on your car...you can call the company and tell them your mods and they can send you a tune once you have it unlocked

once you have the tuner unlocked if it has regular canned tunes then those will work for you, if it has custom tunes then it wont work for you. just make sure that its unlocked
