Default hot hurst shifter?

does anyone elses hurst get really warm? not like wow thats hot... but...dang..thats really warm.

i replaced my fluid and was told to use a ATF fluid, and the manual backs it up, i went with vavoline dextron 5

is that the right kind?

only got about 500 miles on that fluid...but the shifter just seams a little...too warm

the chrome stalk on my Hurst gets pretty dang warm. not so hot you can't hang on to it, but it gets up there.

I just chalked it up to underhood temps flowing under the car, and up in the DS tunnel.

You could try the Amsoil or Royal Purple Synchromax.

It seems like it might be something to do with the design of the shifters for this model of mustang. Mine gets pretty warm too.
