I know you solved your problem, but i just wanted to point a bit more.
You really do have to fight the muffler off, and that's the way it should be.
Make sure you fight back on the same way, you dont want any little exhaust leaks from the overaxle to the muffler. When you think it's on it might not be.
that little leak will ruin your exhaust note.
Taking off the stocker can be a little frustrating if its been on there a while. First, loosen the band clamp around the inlet as much as possible, and spreay pb blaster on the inlet area. Unblot the hangers, and slide them off of the muffler. now slowly wiggle and work the muffler off, and eventually it will come off.
You want to do the reverse when putting it back on. Make sure it is on there TIGHT! you dont want little exhaust leaks. once you think it's on there good - start her up and listen around the inlet. if you hear anything coming from the inlet or anywhere other than the exhaust tip, shut it off and play with it some more.
ope this help you guys who search this up in the future
