Default Upgrading my 2006 v6 mustang. need advice on what to buy

Hey guys

i have about 700 dollars to spend on upgrading my mustang. i need advice on what to buy that will have the most drastic affect on hp and performance.

so far im thinking about getting an AEM brute force air intake and maybe some kinda of computer chip tuner. (also will the chip tuner void my warranty?)

thanks in advance for the advice

cold air intake, tune, exhaust.

get the intake and tune at the same time. exhaust doesn't do much but you will love it!

There are alot of brand of intakes but I would say a C & L with a bamachips tune

Get a CAI/tuner combo. Bamachips.com, shoptillman.com, or brenspeed.com offer the best choices. That will run you around $600 or a little more. Then you can get a gt takeoff exhaust, and you will have a completely different car.

i recommend bamachips, go for the combo and grab a gt takeoff muffler, thats about 700 bucks right there, and you will notice a HUGE difference!
happy modding!

Bamachips, The Mustang Tuning Source

Works just fine for me.

A gt takeoff will be just fine, it will give the same performance mods, and it will sound drastically better. If you like the sound of an aftermarket exhaust better, get it, but it is really all personal preference.

the next thing you should do after getting your tune and CAI is gears. they really wake the car up and make you move like your trying to get the hell outta dodge!!! although gears and a t-lok will run you about ~750 with install.

I got the C&L intake from bamachips and the 91 race tune. That plus the GT takeoff muffler was a huge difference in the feel of the car. The better shifting was AWSOME. BUT.... I noticed that it shifted MUCH harder when on full throttle, so i asked doug at bamachips to make me a special tune that always shifted hard even at like half throtle. and I really liked that. I def recomend sending him an email and trying that tune to see if you like it. Also, i got my muffler off ninosports. it cost $70 after shipping on a GT takeoff... just my 2 cents

unless your dad is a gear expert i would strongly, strongly suggest you take it to a shop. gears are way to easy to mess up and you dont wanna have to spend another 300 bucks on parts cause you installed them wrong the first time.

i would suggest staying away from them messing with the shift pattern of your car. its a proven fact that when they mess with the bands and shift points it shortens the life of the transmission.
