Default Bamachips: What is the difference between the pref tune, torque tune, and race tune?

Well the title says it all. i was curious to the differences between the tunes. not the technical differences, but the performance of the car. how is torque different from prefomance? or is it something you have to experience?

I havent tryed ALL the tunes but what the website says is that the torque tune is for low end torque but you lose a couple horses at higher RPMs. The Race and Performance tunes are the same except Race has firmer shifting. I got the Race Tune and have no complaints, it has more power with no loss in mpg, I got close to 27 mpg cruising around 80 on the way back from vegas : D

Man, I wish that was true for me.... Tried Bama 93 race for a few weeks, and my milege is horrible. I average 70% highway, 30%. (Highway at 80 or so). Got 21mpg combined.... Stock I was getting about 26-27. Plus had big problems with Doug's tune. On the highway, my rpms would surge up and down about 300 rpm in a span of 30 seconds or so. Kinda like the torque converter locking up and down again. Drove me crazy and was not too good on the automatic tranny. Decided to dump 93 race, and go back to my tried and true Brenspeed 93. No problems with that tune and milege is back to 24-25 or so. Did not have a good experience with Bama 93 race tune. I'm sure I will be the only one on the forum that will say it, but compared to my Brenspeed tune, Bama 93 race tune for my personal vehicle sucked.... Please don't flame me, just trying to be honest....

I ran the torque tune in my GT most all the time. The race tune is great for when I take it to the track. I haven't used the performance tune much because I like how the other two tunes respond. Race tune makes the throttle very sensitive.

i dont have a torque tune, but i think the performance tune is writen for just that. its for normal driving and best mpg with 87-93 octanes. its not written for wot driving. the race tune on the other hand, is written for best performance at wot and not available in low octane.
