we'll the plugs are good, and I know the battery is, I just took off my CAI to clean. I also just bought a new fuel filter to change out. Do you think it could be somthing along those lines ?

well check to see if your getting spark to do this pull out a plug, put theboot back on, lay it aginst the engine block, have someone bump the engine a few times, but not start it.

could be a bad coil, or wires.

have someone start your car and see if you can hear the fuel pump. put ur ear down by driver side rear wheel and listen as someone turns key on, but doesent start the car.

what year is ur car?
how many miles?

battery connection!

when u take the batt out clock resets

check connections. make sure the cable clamps are tight, if not replace, make sure theres no corosion on the battery terminals, check the positive and negitive wire connections, negitive at teh block usually positive to the alt.

that would be my guess.

Battery connection or battery, my guess would be the battery since you are at about the battery's end of life. The OEM's normally last about 3 years with often no warning signs of failure beforehand.

Before you spend money on a new battery, have the battery load tested. If you have a local AutoZone, they can check that free of charge, Mike. SCT Tuner.

+1 i bought a new die hard for mine to change it out even though i hadnt had any problems, but didnt want to take a chance and get stranded. i swapped it out, figuring i could still use that oem battery maybe for my boat but within a week, the oem died sitting on my bench. hows that for good timing?

also, if you just cleaned and re-oiled your CAI, then check to see if your MAF is fouled. Sometimes we put too much oil on the filter and the fillament gets gooped up. Use a brake cleaner or similar non-residue cleander and give it a good cleaning.

if you got a 05 with the oem battery, its time. the oem`s are garbage. after 3 yrs, your taking chances.make sure your posts are clean and clamps tight. i dont however think thats your starting problem. if its cranking good, and just not starting, its probabaly something else. start your car up in the dark and check if the spark plug wires are shooting any sparks around. replace the spark plugs. the fuel filter could also be the cause.

Battery is probably the culprit. Mine went dead outa the blue-no warning. It had a build date of 9/97 so my dealership swapped it out no charge as it was in the three year replace window! Also had a larger battery installed, as the battery tray has two spacer blocks for diferent size bats and they just lift up and slide out! life is goood!

i bought a die hard gold that was alot bigger too. i had to take those spacers out. plenty of room for a nice size battery. i wont have to worry about it now for years. thats a good feeling. you got a nice break with the warenty
