I just received my fender emblems and was looking for some tips on installing them. A few questions I have are,,,
What did you use to grind the pins down?
Did you use the stock tape that comes on the emblems?
What measurement did you use to align the emblems to the fender?
Any tips, tricks oir information would be greatly appreciated!
Use a pair of dikes or linemans pliers to cut the pins off. A file can be used to smooth out the rest. Then use 3m double sided molding tape to attach them.

Use this work as the justification to buy yourself a Dremel mototool. With the standard stuff you get with them will receive a cutoff wheel and several grinding wheels. I could not get by without the great utility that this gadget give me

I installed different emblems ( 4.0 Emblems) on my car in place of the tri color emblems that come on the Pony. I originally installed them using a level, but that made them look wrong, so I removed them and installed them parallel to the lower character line and now they look right. I hope this helps you.
As others have said use lineman pliers to snip as close as possible, then file smooth.
3M double sided tape is great, that's what I used.
I tried to center in that flat section between door and fender lip and body line and rocker, that looks like where they put them for the Pony Package.
Using some rubbing alcohol on the paint to remove any wax, measure and use some masking tape to locate.
After a day or 2 wax around on on the chrome of the emblem.

Reason: forgot something
i cut my dash emblem(pony) down as much as a could then used a soldering iron to finish it off. fast and easy. on my fender emblems(no cuting required) i free handed where they go. took a few rough measurments and layed out some pencil marks but i have an eye for stuff like that. mine look factory. also use a small level...i used my iphone haha
