A noise that only occurs when the clutch is pushed in is likely a throw out bearing (the bearing that pushes the clutch forks in) and while not a particularly expensive piece, can be quite labor intensive. One of the factors that wears these out early is our (most people's) habit of leaving our foot gently resting on the clutch when we are not actualy shifting. This loads the throw out bearing up and it wears prematurely.
Let us know in the end what you find out for sure.
