Question california style hoodscoop install?

I'm looking into getting a hood scoop for my o8 v6 and i need to know if the california style scoop is good and easy to install. I saw it only has adhesive strips so is that bad? Thanks

If you are refering to the replica CS hood scoop like they sale on ebay, yes they are a very simple install. You just stick it on there with 3m tape. It should hold on just fine.

Well they say it's an actual ford OE California style scoop so it's not a replica. Do you know if it comes with a diagram or pattern that i can put on the hood to make sure i have it center?

If its a real ford hood scoop, it should require cutting of the hood.

most hood scoops are bonded by 3m double sided tapes. Based on my experience the trick is you should use 3m adhesive promoter with the double sided tape and it will permanently bond to your hood. I have tried just the tape to attach a body kit, front chin and hood scoop and it comes off pretty easily after several trips to the carwash. dont bother attaching accessories without the adhesive promoter.

Its the same hood scoop. The cs doesn't actually come with a hood scoop, it just has the exterior appearance package along with the cs package.

ahhhh ok. anyway, lots of scoops are tape on, and a bunch of guys on here have them. stlwagon had one at one time and said he couldnt hardly get it off when he wanted too. they should be chiming in with their thoughts and experience. did i scare you away from the roush install? its really not hard and it is a nice size and good lookin scoop. i almost bought the xenon, looks nice, good price, but i wanted something that bolted onto the hood. the factory scoop, which i thought about cause it bolts, was double the price of the roush, but i was getting rid of all the grill honeycomb like the factory scoop has inside the scoop. i know, its a tough decision

That looks remarkably similar to the Roush scoop...?

That is nice. The only thing is you can find it much cheaper. If I were going to buy another scoop, it would be from this place.
eBay Motors: PAINTED FORD MUSTANG HOOD SCOOP 2005-2009 (item 110380996773 end time Apr-30-09 08:40:22 PDT)
It looks the same as the stock scoop, and this is where I bought my spoiler from. Top notch company in my experience. Paint is dead on perfect. Check it out, you might save yourself some money. And you don't have to use the bolts, Im sure it will hold fine.

dont worry. start saving now. when it says buy it now, they have a few of them. they will re-list it as soon as that auction ends, or bookmark that page and contact them when you get the cash. all is not lost
