Make sure you keep up on regular oil and filter changes... also since you did the gears, check to see when you will need to refresh the oil...
Dont worry , have fun ...and since you have started changing things, know you will be adding bigger and better in the future, so if something goes...its cool
great point, if you drive em hard, maintain them well. I know there's alot of naysayers out there re; synthetic oil, but I use it religiously. Have on all my Fords. I use it in the motor, the rear diff (front in my SUV) and the trans. I may pick up a little hp, maybe not but it's good insurance. I had a 5.0 go 276K and still ran like a top when I sold it. My 6.8 V10 was over 300K when I sold that, etc, etc, etc. Use good oil, GOOD oil filters (no orange crap) and service the trans, the rear end and the air filter regularly. I swap my brake fluid out every spring, it takes 30 minutes. Grease your bearings, keep it washed and waxed and cars will last 3 or 400,000 miles or more.

That's fine as long as you let come back down to idle rpm.
so i guess when im doing 75 on the free way, pop it into N, then at full rev drop it to drive and floor it.. thats a bad idea? lol its fun though, tires chirp, makes it feel alive

+1 to good maintenance, its a must. all good pointers above except for the oil. i had a new 88 ford truck, 300-6 for 14 yrs, had 310,000 on it when i sold it, still ran great on conventional oil, and never had to do any motor work besides rocker cover gaskets. ford didnt design these motors to run straight synthetic. i guess that will always be a debate. you cant grease or adjust the frt. bearings in the mustangs. they are a non-servicable part. have to replace the entire hubs with the bearings in them.

Just treat the car right and you'll be fine. You could probably get more than 250K out of it if you treat her right.
I hope I get 250 k out of my car lol I treat mine quite well, romp on it occasionally, just as every mustang owner has the right to do
But back to your question, you won't have to worry about anything breaking down unless you gun it everywhere, or you get forced induction. F/I cuts down on alot of engine life
