Default How much abuse can my 2005 Coupe take?

I'm starting to worry after getting gears, lsd, tune, etc.

After the mods I can't seem to keep my foot off the gas.

I don't want the motor or tranny(auto) to give out prematurely.

Any opinions?

It's a car, things are going to wear out and break. It gives you a good opportunity to upgrade parts.

I am not sure but I have heard that the engines can't handle much over 400 horses without new internals. I think with just the mods you listed you will be alright.

yeah you should be fine...

I mean, make it a point to "reserve" your all out times... if you're just driving to the store for milk maybe be cool on it....

but when you need it, it will be there. Your Mustang will handle it just fine.

That's fine as long as you let come back down to idle rpm.

that is the best quote.....ever..

the 4.0 with stock internals is good for about double what its rated at (around 400) but i wouldnt trust that, your mods are fine, but if you go F/I i suggest forged internals.
but i digress..go ahead and have fun! romp it once in a while! even more than that if you want, i would expect that even if you do shorten the life of your engine, it wont be by much, and even if you do, buy a new one!!!

Don't worry about it. My brother-in-law drove the snot out of his '05 mustang GT and got 100K out of it before it started to give him alot of problems. Course, he did do alot of 2nd gear burnouts, 7Krpm shifts and three accidents. He went through his third tranny within 15K miles and decided it was time to slow down. He beat that car to a bloody pulp I'll tell you that right now.

Having a lead foot won't break anything (just your spirit after you see how much you spend on gas). Just treat the car right and you'll be fine. You could probably get more than 250K out of it if you treat her right.

Make sure you keep up on regular oil and filter changes... also since you did the gears, check to see when you will need to refresh the oil...
Dont worry , have fun ...and since you have started changing things, know you will be adding bigger and better in the future, so if something goes...its cool
