i have a 06 v6 mustang and was wanting to put a supercharger on it. does anyone know a good cheap brand and how hard is it to put on. any help would be great.
the x will be easier to install. has a huge manual with pics. take an average weekend warrior 10 hours at most. you can expect about 280+ hp. however..if youre still stock theres a few things youll need before you upgrade to maximize your performance.

I'd get a limited slip differential before LCA's or lowering springs, otherwise you're going to spin 1 tire for days with that X-Charger.
You should also consider an aftermarket drive shaft, since the stock one fails under a lot of pressure. Lots of supercharged and turbo guys like to upgrade to the 8.8" rear end assembly since its a great deal stronger than your current 7.5" rear.
Of course, headers, a screamin demon and livewires, a full exhaust system, LCA's, a UCA and some sticky tires couldn't hurt either.

I dont see a need for lowering springs,,,but thats just me...a good single muffler to replace the stock one will be a great improvement and inexpensive. Duals are nice but dont necessarily add anything ,,,but looks and some sound...I have em..LCA's are good to
I would definitely go with an aluminum D/S and maybe a loop if you have a 5spd I would add a K member brace with trq stabilizers and then an 8.8 so you have the benefit of 2 wheels trying to grab asphalt, then later you could change your gears, just the route I'm going and have gone.

Oh yeah... Limited slip dif FTW! I'd go ahead and put in a GT 8.8 axle + 3.73 gears. That'd be like $700 and a big improvement.
LCA's are probably next step.
Then new rims and wider tires.
A new driveshaft would be nice but most likely isn't required.
Lowering springs will improve your handling + give you a better center of gravity. Plus they look cool! Those can help you get some more power to the ground.
Exhaust isn't necessary at all, but will provide you with more horsepower.
Good luck!

I would definitely advise a new driveshaft esp if you are going to get a new rear end with a higher gear ratio. the aluminum ones are like 15 pounds and wont make weird noises on the highway lol. however they run around 600 bucks to directly answer your question i believe vortech is the least expensive...but all of them are like 4-5k+. i would not put it on unless you have done it before or have an extensive knowledge of superchargers/engine work. a manual might be helpful but thats a very expensive machine you would be working with. better safe than sorry!
