Default can a v6 auto tranny handle 300+ HP

i really want to get a used GT 4.6 engine off of ebay, so i was wondering, can the stock mustang v6 automatic transmission handle the 300+(if modded) horsepower I'd be throwing at it, or would it need to be replaced. thanks

If I'm correct I believe the same automatic tranny is the same one in the automatic GT so you should be fine.

Yep 05+ V6 & GT has the same auto tranny. You can put a Supercharger on your V6 and get more power than stock 4.6L GT. But to answer your question yes it will handle 300+ hp

Yeah it will handle the power, it is the same off the gt. Do you realize what all it takes to do an engine swap however? Yes you might get the engine cheaper, but after I did some research, its gonna be a lot more then just buying the engine, especially if you don't do the install yourself. In my case, it would have been cheaper to mod the sixer or trade the car in then to do the swap. If you do, and it makes you happy, thats all that matters, but just make sure you really do abunch of research.
