How hard is it to replace the Fuel gauge sending unit 7R3Z9A299C and the fuel pump 7R3Z9275C? The dealer wants 450. I figure I can do it myself if I have a walk through. TSB 08-4-17 and 06-10-13. Has anyone performed this? Seems to be a common problem with these cars.

the fuel pump went out in our blue car at 28,000. the dealer replaced it, but i dont think its a hard job. top access to the pump under the rear seat. but i will say, watch that its sealed in good, the dealer didnt, and it leaked gas bad when she pulled out. had to pull right back in

Fuel pump replacement is about an hour job tops. easy access from under the rear seat.

my dealer will be repacing mine this week under warranty. my sending unit went bad and there is already a tsb out for fuel pumps. after long hauls, it build bubbles in the line and chokes a few times at the first few lights or stops. mines under warranty tho, so i dont pay a thing. im curious as to why you will be replacing yours though?
