I want to someday put a stroker small block ford (carbed) in my mustang, and was wondering if I will have to switch the trans as well, or if it is possible for the existing automatic to remain. Anybody know anything about this?

na i think your going to need to switch your bell housing as for the bolt pattern wont match the auto....my question is this though, your up in Washington and I think they have some pretty strict standards...if this is going to be a street car...that's going to be impossible to pass emmitions? As any engine change for motor vehicles for 02 on up standardized vehicles requires the engine being replaced with MUST be newer then the replaced engine, and it must meet current federal standards.

Yeah, the plan is to make a bracket car when it is time to get a new commuter, so as such, I won't have to worry about smoging it.

Good...ok then have fun...yeah i couldn't see this done to a daily driver.
