Default Best way to fix rock chips on paint?

Besides getting a whole new paint job. I got one of those ball bearing/marker type applicators colormatched for my car from Orielly's. Was wondering if anyone has tried them and if they worked. Was going to try it then maybe claybar and wax it up good. Any other suggestions would be appreciated, really dont want to mess up my paintjob, but the previous owner must have lived on gravel road, got quite a few chips. Even have some chips outta my windshield but Ins should cover that 100%.

Sorry I can't help just yet I have one of the pens I hear they work pretty good I have a few scratches from where someone decided they wanted to park real close and open their door in a hurry while I was grocery shopping.....

anyway after I try mine out this afternoon I'll post on here how well they turned out for me.

I just figure that when the front of the hood and the bumper start looking grey from all the rock chips in the black paint I can finally justify getting a new Cervini hood for the car.

the touch up paint markers you can get at ford dealers for about 10 bucks. they wont repair the paint. what they are good for is hiding a small paint chip from showing so much if the chip is deep enough to be through the paint, or a different color. if its on the flat, you can fill in the hole with a bigger drop. if its verticle, you can apply it thinner, then do it a few times letting it dry in between. it doesnt work very well for scratches. you can wipe it on, then wipe the surface trying not to remove it from the scratch or you`ll have a worse looking spot than the scratch was. it just a camo thing. that scrtatch kit stl posted looks more promising for sure.

hey STLWAGON, have you or anyone else used this stuff? It looks really promising and I too just found some chips in my door and I have touch up paint from the body shop. If this stuff smooths it out like they say it does it would make me a super happy guy!!

Thanks for all the info. I think I will try that kit from Langka, thanks for the link STL. Looks promising for sure, better than anything else I have found. And it looks like it will do about 30 chips, so beyond the $40, it will last at least a few years worth of dings and scratches.
