Are you guys sure that the Pony pkg has ABS and traction control included? I have an 09 v6 Premium with Pony pkg and it didn't come with ABS or traction control. I have the sway bars front & rear, 17" wheels, better Perelli tires, rear spoiler, fogs, satin metal dash & steering wheel, leather steering wheel wrap, Shaker 500, power driver seat, ambient lights, my color dash, and that's about it.
Yea it must come with ABS, TCS standard, your Traction button is right next to your hazard flasher, just press it and TCS off light will come on meaning you turned off your TCS and whenever you shut off engine and start again, Traction will automatically turn on again and you have to do it manually.
ABS is on the front right side when you pop the hood, its in front of the intake, you can see it clearly.

Yea, I understand what you are saying but I don't have that. I wonder if it is not actually part of the pony package, but actually just a dealer added line item when they order the car. Next to the hazard light switch I have on one side is the passenger air bag light, and on the other is a dead switch. As for ABS I have seen what it looks like under the hood on pictures on the web, but mine has no ABS. Do you know of any, or have you come across any Ford spec sheet that shows that these items are part of the pony package?
From what i read, only 06 stangs with pony package came with abs and t/c standard, and also the 06 had the same rear sway bar as the gt i believe. from 07 and up they removed the abs and t/c, and put on a smaller sway bar, and thats also why the price got lower.

I have a 08 pony package without abs and t/c.
MAN did I get lucky or what?

I don't think it will break right away but the continued centripetal forces might fatigue it enough to break. I can't recall exactly, but last time I looked under the car, for some reason I think it was a 2 piece.
My 2007 Pony has a single piece driveshaft. At a glance, it is pretty sophisticated looking as compared with the driveshafts in my other cars.
I believe I read somewhere on this forum that the early v6 driveshafts did not have retaining clips on the universal joints, and that was what was causing the driveshaft failures, but that the problem had been corrected on later cars. Can anyone else comment on this? If this is the case perhaps it is safe to drive the v6 Pony at a speed higher than 115 in an appropriate/safe location?
I wouldn't think twice about getting a v6 mustang 05-10. Best decision of my life lol. I love it so much, and I suspect you would too. I imagine with a little mods that you would love it twice as much. I haven't done any mods yet though. Pony package is the way to go though.

Oh, and i would imagine that pretty much all new cars have ABS and traction control. Mine's a pony 07 and it has it. I would imagine it's a safety feature. I was driving an 87 crown victoria 5.0 302 in the winter and everytime i just tapped the brakes they would lock up and it would slide (not just messing around, it was scary at times) it of course didn't have ABS

Hi guys, I know, old thread alert. But you all seem to be overlooking the distinction between the Pony Package and the Performance package.
Looking at my build sheet it is clearly listed. You can get the "pony package" without the "performance package".
Pony Package:
P235/55/ZR17 A/S tire
White stripe tape
Front floor mats mustang logo
Rear decklid spoiler
17" premium cast wheel
Pony center cap
Performance Package (you choose options)
Front side airbags $380.00
Sirius sat radio 195.00
Comfort group
-Heated seats 575.00
Anti-Lock brakes
-Traction Control 775.00
Leather trimmed seats 695.00
I could be wrong but it looks like the dealers select the options they want for the cars they sell, some put on the TCS and anti-lock and some do not, even if you have the Pony package.
Also the anti-theft system is listed as an option, $325 and the interior upgrade is another $460. No mention of the pony fog lights and corral in the grille but they were on the car, not the build sheet.
The Pony package give you 17" Alloy Bullit (spelling) wheels and better tires. Also, aside from the frond grill and rear spoiler and he badges, the pony has front and rear sway bars. The bars greatly improve the cars stiffness allowing you to take corners faster. I drove in a stang without them and man, they make a difference.
Now I am not sure whether these features are stock or do they always come with the Pony Package but here is what mine came with:
Traction Control
ABS (pretty sure it is stock)
Shaker 500 with 6 in dash cd changer
My Color
Spoiler
Pony Package grill w/ fog lights (of course)
Sway bars
That is all that comes to mind right now.
Now the car will take speeds over 115. There are 3 things that prevent you going that fast. The tires, the driveshaft, and the speed limiter. All of those things can be overcome with better rated tires, aluminum driveshaft, and a tuner (respectively). Now I am not sure about the manual transmition, but the auto in V6s is the same as in GTs. I would wait for someone more knowledgable in that part to answer that question.
By the way, in my opinion manual is the way to go. I decided not to get the manual, wrongly, because I was iffy with the manual when I got the car, I live in DC and traffic is MURDER, and it was my daily driver. Looking back now, not great reasons but I love my car none the less.
Anyway, welcome to the forums and welcome soon to pride of mustang owenership.
1.) every mustang has a front sway bar
2.) the only things the pony package came with were a wheel upgrade, rear sway bar, and fog lights.
3.) the manual v6's use the T5 transmission, the manual GT's use a TR3650. the T5 can't handle any forced induction on the V6 and at some point has to be replaced if you go that route.
4.) the other things that you listed (shaker, traction control, abs, etc) are just normal options and have nothing to do with the pony package.
5.) (to the original poster) it costed me $350 total to get a set of bullit wheels and a rear sway bar so don't break the bank trying to find one for those reasons, you can upgrade your car you know
