So I went to the beach the other day. On my way back, I stopped for gas. When I was checking my fluids, I noticed that my coolant was dangerously low. I had to go into the store and buy a gallon of coolant. I added half a gallon and drove 2 hours to get home.
Once I got home, I checked it again and the coolant tank was dry. I didn't see any leaks, and I checked the engine oil and it was normal, so I figured there isn't a head gasket problem. Engine temperature seems fine as well. I topped her off again.
The next day I checked again. There was coolant all over the ground, so now I knew there was a leak. I added coolant to the tank and started the engine. Coolant started seeping out of the engine (right above the front passenger engine mount). I was thinking that maybe it could be a freeze plug. Any ideas?

get a trouble light if you need it and get a closer look. dry off the area, you should be able to see where its coming from. double check the overflow tube, it might be your radiator cap

Finally got a flashlight and took a closer look. The thermostat housing cracked and the gasket needs to be replaced as well.. I guess I gotta take a trip to the stealer tomorrow for some parts.

any time you build the crap out of a motor, its a marriage between your motor and your toolbox.
but getting back to the housing issue, i think i`m gonna get one and a thermostat and keep it on hand as not to get stranded for any length of time when it craps out. new coolant hoses coming this week.
