Default ATI procharger Vs. Vortech Charger

So, I cannot decide between the two. The procharger claims 55-65% gains (around 325-349ish) and the vortech says 290 for regular system, and 330 for the HO system...Obviously The more power the better, but as of right now i dont plan on building up the internals at all. The ATI says it runs at 9-10 PSI and the Vortech at 8-9 i think. if i went with the vortech i would be getting the V3 self oiling unit, because i hate the idea of tapping into the pan. I was thinking about running the ATI with like 6PSI and hoping for about 100hp out of that.... please advise...ive been looking at these two for weeks now and have no idea what to get...anyone with pros? cons? best set up? and so on

if i had the money, i would go with the procharger. they can put stock gt's on pump gas well into 11's. and plus i think the bypass valve on the procharger sounds cool too haha

Well I have considered both for my car and researched both. The self oiling unit seems nice in theory but I found out that it is extremely hard to change the oil in the unit and it must be done every 5000 miles. If you tap into the pan you just change your oil like normal and don't worry about the unit. Also if you look at both the pro and vortech these are both centrifugal superchargers which will take quite a while to reach boost. Some numbers I saw said that they reach boost around 3500-3900 RPMs. So if it's instant boost you are wanting because you want a supercharger the centrifugal style is not the way to go. The only other option for the v6 right now is the Xcharger. It is positive displacement but does not give as high power numbers. They are working on an intercooled kit that is going to boost power. The main thing about it is that it is instant boost rather than delayed boost like a turbo.

no...looks like it might be a little while longer. everyone though it would be sooner but it seems economic times are slowing the process. theyre still going through testing and design on certain parts from what i understand, while other parts are finished and are already ordered/ready to distribution. i still dont have all the money so its fine by me if it takes a while. so far though 50+hp gains are being reported over the non intercooled x. theres pictures over at collective too if u look hard enough

the Xcharger stats seem to look at alot like the procharger and the vortech, general outline of them is pasted below..

Steeda has teamed up with X-Charger to offer an extremely potent roots style supercharger package for 2005-2008 V6 Mustangs. This non-intercooled kit will net 100-120+ rwhp & 120+ rwtq gains for a rwhp & rwtq of 275-300. The roots style compressor will offer instant boost and torque at any RPM. Includes all necessary equipment to complete an "OE" looking install

The reason i was looking at the vortech and the prochargers is because i cant seem to find a good turbo, or twin turbo kit for the V6 (ideal situation would be a staggered turbo set up....) but the cost of the xcharger compared to the other 2 is rather high, especially if it only adds 50hp like you say... so maybe a better question would be, anyone know of any good turbo set ups for a 4.0?

How long will it take for the TVS unit to come out?

Avoid the torque twister, I have heard many reviews about it saying that the parts wear out rather quickly. The powerhouse turbo from powerhouse411.com seems to be a good one. And the one I am going to put on my car is the STS turbo. They have a car specific turbo for like 4500, or you can get universal kits alot cheaper. You can get an intercooled single universal kit for like 3 or a twin kit for around 4k. And alot of folks say that installation will be alot but it will be around a grand. This will put you about evn with the bolt on kit unless you plan to do it yourself. The only place where you will lose some money is with the tune but if you plan to custom tune it yourself then, again you break even. Oh and btw thw STS kits let you custom size your turbo in case you wanted to do twin sequentials, like you mentioned.
