Question Stock muffler to GT take-off

Ok so I bought GT mufflers on ebay and today we are finally doing the switch. But, one of the brackets are welded and we're having a hard time getting it off. I think its the far left one... Any suggestions please?

Also what is this connected to the muffler? My dad has never seen this before and neither have I!

the one pc is a sound damper ford put on the v6 muff to tune the muffler to the car. the 3rd bracket on the v6 muffler you will not be using. just use the 2 hangers on the gt muffler and the tailpipe clamp. you can carefully bend the 2 rods on the gt muff if you have to to make it hang better

Yea i don't know haha. I guess you have to know what you're doing? Anyway.... WOOT! It's on and it sounds great! lol I showed my dad a comparison on youtube and he didn't think it was any different from stock. Well, lets just say he was smiling when I revved the engine. No more crappy muffler, thanks ford for wasting your money!

good deal. it has a nice classy sound and frees up some h.p. it will get a little bit louder as it gets older. it sure sounds good at wide open throttle

hell yea it does! I tested it yesterday around my neighborhood and now I look forward to revving my engine. I think my next plan is to go dual and then CAI, tuner, headers, t-loc, gears, throttle body and some others. My dad doesn't want to void the 5-year warranty, but gradually I will add the mods. Thats the only downside of a new car!
