Default check engine light, ref MAF sensor

maf sensor posistion.
i got the oem stock air box from a v8 gt, i attached to the stock v6 inlet hose to the t.b. it keeps tripping code / check engine light coming on. i know the v8 box inlet [where the hose clamps on] is a little bigger then the v6, but would that little bit of diff. do this.
the maf fits the v8 box,and yes i have it installed the right way.
it never did this until i messed around with it
any one have any advise? or just find the right v6 box to re-install !
thank you

Are you using the GT airtube/MAF housing too?

The larger GT MAF housing is messing up the readings the factory tune is expecting to see from the stock 4.0 MAF housing (yes, it IS enough to do that)

Your choices are put a 4.0 airbox lid back on the car, or get a dyno shop to retune it for the GT MAF housing.

These cars are very touchy when it comes to MAFs.

A good point, but every CAI worth spit also requires a retune. He's either got to go back to stock, or sink some semi-serious $$$ into upgrading however you slice it
