Default 2005 Mustang-Instrument Cluster woes

So I've owned this 05 mustang for 10 days now and the instrument cluster needs to be replaced but of course its not covered under their 60 day warranty and they want $560 to replace it - its the speedometer that has stopped functioning properly and I'm wondering what I should do and venting my frustrations here.

I'm curious, how many miles does your 05 have? I have an 05 also and my speedometer went out at about 60,000 miles.

I don't know anything about the instrument cluster so I had to get it replaced by the dealer. It cost me about $540. Yes, verrry expensive being that they had to replace the whole thing.

Oh, and when they did replace it, the gas gauge wouldn't go all the way to full with a full tank of gas so I had to get the cluster replaced again. And because the service rep that took down my information didn't write down my odometer reading, they guessed at my mileage and had added 250 miles more than when they replaced the cluster. sorry, didn't mean to ramble on...

I'm not sure what else you can do, but maybe someone else on here can help.

my 05 v6 has a problem with the gas gauge. when it is somewhat cold out side it moves all the way past the full mark and wont come down for a few days. it sucks cuz i dont know how much fuel i have.

so i called around the local shops and none are willing to do the upgrade to the 6 gauge (surprise surprise) and its about 330 for the 4 gauge cluster alone and and another 200 to have them install... what ever happened to quality American products...

Mine never really goes past the full mark, but I suppose it was better than the last one which didn't even reach "F".

Don't you just hate all those technical glitches? I know I do.

I hope you can get it fixed soon. I know when my speedometer went out I was going about 90-95 mph (speedo read 70) and wondered why everyone else was so freaking slow and why my engine seemed like it was revving awfully high for 70. Then I got into town where I had to drive about 30 and noticed the speedometer read 0 mph. I had to guess my speed until I could get it fixed. No fun.
