Default slow off the line

Did a search but couldn’t find much. Have an 05 V6 with 23K miles that I got about a year ago. It’s a dog off the line. First part of the throttle is fine, but full throttle causes it to bog for a second or two. It’s a daily driver, I’m not worried about racing it or the top RPM range too much, but I would like it to move off the line a bit. Opened the plug gap up to .060”, which helped a lot. Makes me think that it’s lean off the line (also the plugs have almost no color, another indication of lean). It runs much better cold than when it warms up. I’m guessing that the emissions stuff comes on when it’s warmed up and effects things adversely. Could the MAF sensor be cal’d poorly? Doubt it’s the fuel filter, as it runs fine at freeway speeds and higher RPM WOT (the greatest fuel demand areas). Anyone else experience this, is this normal for the stock V6?

I really don't think that it is normal for the car to do that. If you floor it from a stop with an automatic it should just hesitate for a second and then start to take off as the rpm's come up. You might want to try a fuel system cleaner and stick with your first instinct, it might actually be running lean. You've already messed with the spark plugs so I would imagine you made sure the plugs are nice and past snug a bit. Check the plug wires and make sure all connections are good and that there are not any cuts or abrasions on them. Check for vacuum leaks anywhere in the intake and exhaust systems. If you can't find anything your self, maybe you could find a reputable mechanic in your area that knows these cars pretty well and ask them to check it out.

Oh heck, I just noticed you are in Orange, Cali! I can refer you to a mechanic locally, just PM me.
That is only if you want to though.

for 14.00, at 23,000 i would change the fuel filter regardless. hows your air filter look? .060 is a long ways from specs. i use .065 with the demon coil. post back if you figure something out.

um my throttle is still really laggy, but once it kicks in i move.

when i replaced my fuel filter i went from getting 180 miles per tank to 260.

i would suggest trying two things.
fuel filter, and a full engine carbon clean. i had a dealer do it, but yo ucan try seafoam. it made my whole car preform beter

As said, the fuel filter is an easy fix. And if you aren't comfortable with the seafoam, then take your throttle body off and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Also new airfilter.
