i have a 2006 v6 mustang and i want to get some sound out of this thing i know i can never get the v8 sound out of it but i figure some sound is better than nothing right? So how can i get the best sound out of my v6? any suggestions?
well maybe getting a slp loudmouth one shot gun resonater would be nice or a super 44 series flowmaster
can u help me...i dont know how to post threads
just go into the forum u want to post in and itll show u all the posts in the forum and right above that theres a little box that says new forum or new post something like that and u can post one by clicking into that
Straight back true duals (No Midpipe) into your choice of muffler. Can't go wrong there.
+1, easy, cheap, and it sounds great

I have a single Flowmaster A/T and under the right conditions (not very hot outside and certain RPMS) it makes the attempt at the V8 type sound. Other times though, it is too high pitched for my liking and can have the tiniest beginnings of rice under the wrong conditions!
Would I be any better off with a MAC axle back for around the same price that I paid for my Flowmaster? Or should I save up and get the Borla which supposedly has a much deeper sound?

I just installed an Airaid CAI on my Stang and along with the Flowmaster A/T, it is pretty nice sounding now. Instead of another muffler, I would try that first...probably would cost the same for a CAI that does not require a tune.

Well now that I figured out how to create and show my signature, you can see that I do have a JLT cai with bama tunes. The exhaust sound did get better with the cai and tune install, but is still not overly pleasing. But like I said, when its not hot outside, the tone sounds much more full.

i think the MAC axle back sound as close to a v8 as you can get. if i can ever figure out how to post a vid ill show you. but be warned there is a drone so if that will drive you crazy don't get it. i love it because it sounds mean and ready to go.
everyone tells me i have a nice gt. no one asks me if i v6 anymore

I ordered a MAC single muffler, but they sent me a whole cat-back system! I thought that was pretty awesome.
Anyway, I installed just the one to see how it sounds. It sounded awesome at idle while in the car, but outside you heard more "hummm" instead of "gurgle gurgle" if that makes sense.
I ended up taking it off and going to GT Takeoffs. The Mac drone made me want to crash into a pole, it was like sitting in a sub woofer. But, I got a dual exhaust system out of it.
I was thinking maybe it would sound better once I went the dual route as opposed to just the one. Or perhaps it would make it twice as bad?
I don't know, but I think my GT Takeoff sounds cool for the time being. Maybe it would sound louder when I put the other muffler on for duals?
