I have two small, but definately noticable dents on the passenger side rear fender of my 08. I know that they can probably be taken out by a PDR guy pretty easily, but I'm trying to find alternative that I can do myself. I tried heating the panel up with a hair dryer and using a can of air duster and that didn't work. Also, I tried accessing the back of the dents by taking out the interior panel by the rear seat and trying to get to it from the trunk. I was curious if there is a way to access the back of the panel from the rear wheel well or some other way i could pop the dents out. Thanks in advance for any help.
those inside panels are wide open once you remove the inside covers. there is a way to pop dents using ice or or dry ice maybe, ive heard of it for hail damage but i dont know know how to or how it works. if you try to hit it on the inside your most likely gonna make it worse. we get alot of hail here. if i get a chance tomorow i`ll call a local body guy and ask.

Dry ice will work on larger dents but not on small dents/creases.
i`m pretty sure they use it down here for hail dents, which we have had hail here the size of ping pong balls. ive seen cars demolished from hail. pretty scary stuff. i agree, nothing works on a crease, and i could be all wrong on this one but i`m gonna check into it cause now i need to know. for now, my car has to stay outside so i keep a stack of moving blankets close by. check out these pics

I'm in the same boat. Someone was trying to squeeze my car between a fence and a truck that was parked behind it and scraped my rear fender against the trucks bumper. 2 golf ball sized dents and 2 gnarly 14" scratches.
I'm gonna go get mine fixed professionally though, as the wrong-doer apologetically offered to pay for all repairs.

Thanks for the info everybody. I haven't tried the dry ice method yet so i may give that a shot, otherwise I'll probably just find someone who can fix it around here.
well, talked to the local body guy here and though hes heard of the dry ice, he has never seen it done either. depending on the dent, he has a guy that glues a plastic rod into a dent then pulls it out and a guy that used some kind of steel rods if he can get behind the dent, which he said both have worked but only for certain dents. bottom line, if you want it fixed right and looking good, bite the bullet and take the car into the shop.

I tried the dry ice method....It sort of worked. The dents are less noticable, but I'm going to get an estimate to get it professionally repaired next week.

people claim the trick with the ice is to have the metal real hot first. like here a hood in the 100 degree sun is plenty warm, or maybe a heat gun, but if you mess up the paint your done anyway. you`ll be glad you had it fixed nice.
