Default 2006 v6 throttle response issue after BBK 70mm throttle body install

In the spring I installed a BBK 70 mm throttle body on my 2006 v6, since then the car has been experiencing peculiar throttle response.
When I shift into neutral the engine revs dropped to 1000 rpm and then climb to over 2000, slowly settling down as the car slows, when the car stops the engine immediately drops to 700/800.
Installing a BAMACHIPS tune made the car run well but now when I lift off the throttle the car does not slow down at all?
I have returned to the original throttle body but still have no engine braking. Any ideas suggestions appreciated.

sounds like a vaccum leak...check all hoses and connections or maybe it is a sticky throttle plate

my car has never had much engine breaking. its almost like cruise control letting off the gas. hitting the o.d. button helps if you have a auto

+1

Make sure everything is clean and hooked up properly.

Aside from that, the tune can be adjusted.

Also, there's a new mod for Zabteck throttle bodies that allows mechanical adjustment that helps.

my car does the same thing on occasion its kind of common on mustangs ive talked to a couple of people about what could be the problem but, either its a vacuum leak or the way the sensor is, it happens.

OK,
So to answer myself, I found the following fix for the throttle/idling issue. As a number of people have noted, depressing the clutch is one way to drop the fast idle when you are downshifting or coasting. Taking this one step further, I popped out the little plastic switch, located at the top of the clutch pedal assembly, which effectively does the same thing. This fixes the throttle hang but turns off the cruise control. I might rig a switch to turn the whole thing On/Off depending on where I am. Probably have to turn it on for an emission test anyway.
