Default 2005 V6 Mustang ball joint replacement

Hello. Just purchased a 2005 Mustang V6 for my son. Put new tires on yesterday and was told I need to replace the ball joints. Also told I needed to replace the control arms because they are 1 piece. Local repair shops agree with this except 1 shop says they can replace just the ball joints. I'm confused. Thanks

Welcome to the site. Get a third opinion. But suspension parts do wear out. Your sons safety is the real reason the fix everything wrong with it even if its ify.

Welcome to AFM and the forums. yes the guy was correct. the ball joints are not serviceable. they are one part assebly with the control arm. a bunch of stuff is like that. you cant replace a wheel bearing either, you have to replace the hub with the bearings in it.

Welcome... You can replace the ball joints but you will need a press to service them.

+1

Here's a pdf of the installation instructions for the Steeda X5 ball joint kit.

Don't use the X5's unless the car is lowered though.
