Default Ethanol Gas with a tune...Okay or Nay??

Hey all...I just got my sct from American Muscle with a free 93 octane tune...I was just wondering if I could use gas that contains ethanol in it(up to 10 percent here) while I have the tune loaded or not...I know the savings r minimal(bout 10 cents a gallon) but would really like to know...and if so will it run the same???

you should be fine. But no, it will not be the same. I personally hate gas that has 10% ethanol, but most of the local gas stations have it (BP and shell) so I am stuck with it.

I have the diablo sport programmer and a good little list of upgrades done and all of our gas pumps in my area have those stickers "may contain 10% ethanol" i haven't had aby problems with it my buddy has a s/c car and runs the same gas no problem. You shouldn't have anything to worry about.

my old truck runs ok with it, but you will (might) notice a loss in mpg. so even thought the gas might be cheaper, it works out the same for money/milage. i avoid it if i have any choice of gas stations.

You won't save anything. Do a test. Run a tank full of real gas and calculate how many mpg you're getting then run a tank full of gas with ethanol filler in it and do the same. You'll find that you get several mpg less with the ethanol gas. Don't use the computer in the car to calculate it. It isn't accurate enough. Divide the number miles you drove by the number of gallons you refill your tank with.

I run a 91 octane tune in my car and I've found a dramatic loss in mpg whenever I'm forced to put in a tank of ethanol filler gasoline. Yeah, it costs a little less, but you'll be filling the tank a lot more often.

its also not as potent as gas, and your gonna take some performance loss. we have some casey gas staions here that sell it. the super unleaded with ethanol is the same price as the regular.
