Hello all,

Just picked up a new '09 V6 a few weeks back, waved goodbye to my '05. I'd like to boost the HP without breaking the bank.

I have a Superchips 1755 tuner that I'd used on my '05 - a couple of questions:
1) Will this unit work if I try to tune my new '09? I don't think the vendor even sells this unit any longer, and to my knowledge the 1755 isn't upgradable via the internet.
2) If I flash the new Pony, do I risk voiding the warranty? I flashed the '05 well before the warranty was up, and never had an issue. Although I'd guess that was more luck than anything.

I am quite certain I'll get a wide variety of opinions, and I appreciate everyone's feedback. Thanks!

Check with your dealer's service dept and see how they feel about mods. I put a supercharger on my 4.0 two weeks after I bought it and have no trouble with my dealer. But then again, I wouldn't expect them to warranty an engine problem with a supercharger.

Technically if you re-flash the PCM your altering engine and transmission parameters (Auto) So yes the dealer could void the warranty on anything controlled by the PCM. If you return the car to stock before going to the dealer, they will only know the PCM has been reset (dead battery can do that) not that a tune was installed. If your that worried about the warranty, leave the car stock till the warranty expires.

back to the original topic about boosting power without breaking bank. what do you consider breaking the bank? for example with 1500 bucks i would do the basics

tuner/cai combo 529.99 from american muscle

dual exhaust (buy a set of mufflers and have a shop custom make you a midpipe) 225-500 depending on which mufflers you get

3.73/4.10 gears and a t lok- 500-700 including install, depending on where you get them installed

all those mods would be more than sufficient in making your car feel like a totally different car.

if i was you, i would get a hold of super chips, talk to some kind of tech and get all the info before you go flashing your new car.
