Default Think I found perfect gear set

This gear set is for the 7.5 inch rear end I finally found it online. Is this everything I will need for my 2008 v6 mustang and how much will installation cost? Also how often do I have to oil my gears or do you have to change oil in your gears? I know nothing about that.

Mustang Gears Package from StangMods

Also if i remember right on the other form one of the guys said not to buy motive gears and that listing there is for motive gears. Oh Go on ebay and get a set of gears save yourself about 250 dollars.

I remember that but on the same site they have ford racing brand gear set also for a little more money.

About oiling gears do you just oil the gears or is there a place you put oil into?

I will pay someone to do everything I know nothing about cars I have no tools and i would totally screw it up for sure.

But you think that set has everything i need it looks pretty good I might go ahead and get it if i hear any good about it here.

Also will my speedometer work with this gear set or will I have to do something else for it to work?

you could probably get the same thing from american muscle for about the same price, but american muscle has free shipping. also, you are going to need gear oil.

install should be about 200-300 bucks

Spend the extra $$ on the FRPP gears. You will need a tuner to recalibrate the speedometer.

I live in Rockford IL and I got a quote for $200 to install the gears. You will also have to buy a tuner to tune your car which run $380 at the american muscle website.

no there are ones for the 7.5

this comes back to the tuner question that I believe you had earlier about the cold air intakes lol, I'm sorry but if i were you I would get one, otherwise you're speedometer will say like 85 when you're going like 60 just because your RPM's will be higher

Also I'm like you, I have to have other people install, because I have absolutely no experience or tools. Maybe if I had the right tools I could do some stuff, but I just don't!

Never seen them but it will do the same thing as a tuner. And probably even worse because a tune on a stock car makes a huge difference.

What do you mean even worse? Doesnt it just make the speedometer right?

OK bad choice of words on my part. Yes it will adjust the speedometer so it reads right. But why I said it is worse than a tuner because a tuner will actually make your car run better (ie tighten the shift points, improve the response time, increase performance, etc) where as that thing will simply make it so the speedometer works. But again, if you don't want a tuner, and judging by your reasons why you don't want one, I don't see this speedometer thingy being any better to get.
