Default More gear questions (Sorry, I know)

Hey I was browsing through AM looking at gears and can I just buy the gears and t-lok, or do I need the bearing kit thing?

Also I assume that I'd have to buy the royal purple gear oil? It's only 16 dollars anyway, so I'm sure it's well worth it

the full bearing/install kit would be recommended. A "while your in there..." kind of thing.

id let a shop pput in generic oil and friction modifyer.

after 500 miles ( break in period ) id change the rear end fluid yourself

http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ml#post1435662

some say its not needed but its a safe insurance.

there IS a break in period, it says it on the box even though some just get em out and romp em.

some say a few heat up and cool down cycles, motive said 500 miles.

then change that oil as stated above.

you ask about break in period, my as well ask what states air is best for inflateing tires.

but i reccomend 500 miles easy driveing with a 1.58q dose of RP

i had some noise pre fluid change it went away after

ok thanks horse, I wondered about gear whine, etc. Alot of people talk about it, don't really know what it sounds like but they way people talk about it, it doesn't sound desirable lol. But yeah hopefully I don't have too many problems. I'm not getting them right now, I just like to know what exactly I'm going to buy in the future, how much it'll cost, and basically learn quite a bit about it before I put it on my car lol.
