Default x-pipe question

im currently looking at an xpipe for my 2007 v6 mustang. The question im asking is whether to go with the pypes kit, or the ford racing kit. The pypes one is 449$ and the ford racing one is 649$. the only difference i see is on the ford kit, the bezzles that protect the bottom of the cutout on the rear bumper. I might be able to get the ford one cheaper because i know someone who has been working at a ford dealership for a long time, but for now i just would like to know which one to go with

a catted X pipe is a catted X pipe. you are really just paying for the Ford name. really, a good way to go is to just buy a set of mufflers for 225-600 (600 being the super expensive side) and go to a local exhaust shop and have them custom make you an X pipe and do all the labor puttin everything on for an addition 200 bucks or so.

i was wondering about that, but i was planning on putting it on myself, as i know how to, and thought it would save some money from the shop

i agree with silver bullet, unless you have an arc welder and u know how to weld then sure do it your self. i recommend going to the exhaust shop to get the x-pipe. he is right about the whole thing where really your just paying for the name its alot cheaper to do the whole exhaust shop thing. i did mine at a exhaust shop i did tru duals cat back super 40 flow masters with tips and the guy cut out the arc for the second muffler since i just have a v6 for all that i got it done for 800 but thats just me.
